Absolute Software Joins Enterprise Desktop Alliance
Sunnyvale, California and Vancouver, Canada - February 17, 2010 - The Enterprise Desktop Alliance today announced that Absolute Software has joined the Enterprise Desktop Alliance (EDA). On December 3, 2009 Absolute purchased LANrev which was a founding member of the EDA. By joining the EDA, Absolute has broadened the categories of cross-platform integration that the EDA represents to include cloud-based data security, theft recovery and computer tracking. Absolute’s security and computer lifecycle management solutions support both Mac® computers and PCs.
"We are delighted that Absolute Software has continued and extended LANrev's engagement with the EDA," said T. Reid Lewis, president of the Enterprise Desktop Alliance, and CEO of Group Logic. "Absolute's participation will help us advance our goal of helping IT deploy and manage Macs in a Windows environment."
"Absolute believes that the Enterprise Desktop Alliance contributes to helping people and the organizations they work for select their preferred platform based on the needs of the job rather than because of it's perceived manageability," said Peter Frankl, vice president of Asset Management Software at Absolute.
Absolute has participated in all the activities sponsored by the EDA in 2010 including the webcast "Snow Leopard Integration in the Enterprise" which is available on-demand on the EDA web site. Absolute was also represented at Macworld in the Enterprise Desktop Alliance booth.
