Article 3 – Implementing File & Print Services on Windows Servers for Mac OS X Clients
Third in a series
In this article we will look at leveraging ExtremeZ-IP to share files and printers to Mac OS X clients using existing Windows servers and using Centrify to provide centralized access to those files in the form of managed preferences. In this article we will begin by recapping a quick walkthrough of the installation process for Centrify and ExtremeZ-IP. We will then move on to leveraging managed preferences served up from Centrify to provide access to shares created in ExtremeZ-IP, much the same way that Automounts and Group Folders are published to clients using Open Directory.
This is the third in a series of articles originally published in MacTech Magazine. The series describes the variety of ways that organizations can leverage their Windows management environment and expertise to manage and deliver service to Macs. They are indicated in the Resource Center as Articles 1-6.
